Chinese biotechnology company
that is committed to becoming a world leader in the research
and development, manufacture and commercialization of
vaccines for endemic and pandemic viruses such as hepatitis
and influenza, and for fast emerging viruses such as SARS
and Avian Flu Influenza.
•
Recently, the company announced that the State Food and Drug
Administration in China issued a production license for
Sinovac’s proprietary influenza flue vaccine. According to
Chinese regulations, a new vaccine must have both a new drug
certificate and a Good Manufacturing Practices
certification. The company plans to apply for the GMP
certification shortly. Once approved, the company’s
facilities will have capacity to produce up to two million
flue vaccine doses per year and expects to begin selling the
vaccine towards the end of 2005
